Fu Tournament Raises Money for SACC
The Hung
Gar Kung Fu Academy of Mooresville hosted the 4th Annual Fall
Classics Kung Fu Tournament as a benefit for Structured Athletics
for Challenged Children (SACC).
The
tournament opened with the traditional Lion Dance routine of
"Eating the Greens." The dance was followed by a demonstration
of Hung Gar exercises by SACC students Kim Tolbert, Tosha Linker
and Tiffany Thomas. All three trained at the academy and earned
their certificates in Hung Gar first exercises.
Demonstrations
highlighted the unique Philippine style of Balintawak/Arnis
stick fighting along with several take down and disarm techniques.
Hun Gar students competed in empty hand forms, weapons forms,
and sparring competitions.
Following
the very successful tournament, SACC was presented with a check
for $500.
